The predatory mite Amblyseius montdorensis exercises effective control over incipient populations of whitefly and of thrips. Especially of the latter, since it is capable of attacking both larvae in the first stage of development like the second.
In the absence of prey, Amblyseius montdorensis can also feed on surrounding pollen, so the population remains stable and controlled for longer.
